Content of the lesson
This lesson describes different forms of violence in urban areas and makes the link between security policies and
the criminalisation of the poor. It outlines the difference between "urban violence" and "violence of urbanisation". It shows
in which respect architecture and urban planning can be used for the interest of security project. Further it outlines how
bringing security to urban areas can increase segregation and thus violence.
